EKKO Products employ multiple recording and play trigger options.

Recording methods:

  • Online recording using the telephone or computer microphone, the audio (personal message or music) is downloaded onto the product at fulfillment.

  • Point of Purchase Recording via direct download to the product from a kiosk.

  • Recording at home using a mini-microphone built into the product.

  • Integration with audio-capable digital cameras like those from HP, Casio and others that let users capture ambient sound together with an image.  These cameras automatically combine the audio and image files which can then travel together and, with EkKKO-enhanced products, be output together as an “audio-photo”.

Note: All Ekko products employ “non-volatile” memory so the recorded audio is retained even when batteries are replaced.

Play trigger options:

  • Push-button units that play when the user presses the "play" button.

  • Slide-switch units that play automatically when a card or other printed piece is opened.

  • Light-sensitive units that play when exposed to light.

  • Motion-sensitive units that play when the built-in sensor detects motion.

More about adding audio:
Adding audio online or at a kiosk –Quick, Easy and Fun

Online

To create custom audio-imaging products online, all your customers need is a PC connected to the Internet and a telephone (or a computer microphone).

To add audio to a photo, users dial a toll-free number. A recording instructs them to punch in the 6 digit code number, assigned to the photo to which they want to add audio.  Customers can record as many times as it takes to be happy with the recording. Then they save it and can either hang up or continue on the same call to add audio for additional photos.  As soon as the customer is finished recording a message they can click the associated image on the screen to hear the audio they just recorded on the phone play from their computer.

To add audio to a photo using a computer microphone, the consumer simply clicks the microphone icon by the photo and begins speaking.  Consumers can also add audio via upload from their hard drive or via clicking a link to audio selections provided online.

Consumers can also add music with a recorded personal dedication by first selecting a song from a provided list and then dialing a toll-free number and recording a brief dedication that will play before the song.

At a Kiosk

The process of adding audio from a kiosk is similar to the online process. The consumer can use a cell phone and enter 6-digit code numbers associated with a photo disoplayed on the kiosk screen or simply click a microphone icon by a photo and use the kiosks’s microphone to record a message.

As when online, consumers can also add audio via upload from their hard drive or via clicking a link to audio selections provided on the kiosk.
